The 20th DIMF, TIMELESS: Park Tae-jun [Daegu]

[Synopsis] Park Tae-jun is a contemporary composer who graduated from one of South Korea's top one percent music colleges but has failed to secure a proper profession, finding his artistic identity shaken by the walls of survival. One day, through an old projector accidentally turned on at Mido Dabang, an old tea house in Daegu, he encounters his younger self, who composed "Oppa Saenggak" and "Dongmu Saenggak." The past Park Tae-jun, who believes art is the reason for existence, and the present self, who is on the verge of giving up music in reality. Amidst the intense questions and debates between the two, the projector shines once more, and the elderly Park Tae-jun, who has lived through his entire life, appears before them. At the moment when the Park Tae-juns of the past, present, and future meet through a single piece of music, he realizes that art is not a trophy of success, but a continuous series of choices made without giving up, even amidst the flow of time.
