EcoSeongnyugul
Seongnyugul is a natural limestone cave and a natural monument that attracts tourists in all four seasons, accompanied by lush arborvitae trees. The cave, with a total length of 472m, features endless stalactites and stalagmites, and its 12 plazas and 5 ponds, which connect to the Wangpicheon Stream, are home to many fish species. The current name, Seongnyugul, originated during the Imjin War. When the Imjin War broke out, Buddhist statues from a temple in front of the cave were evacuated into the cave, leading people to call it Seongnyugul, meaning the cave where the Holy Buddha resides. The Three Buddha statues, which look as if three Buddhas are standing in a row, are particularly famous. There is a sad history where local residents fled to Seongnyugul to escape Japanese invaders during the Imjin War, but Japanese soldiers who detected them blocked the cave entrance, causing everyone to starve to death, and countless human bones were discovered throughout the cave thereafter. * Inquiries: 054-789-5400 * Operating Hours: 09:00~18:00 (November~February 09:00~17:00) * Closed Days: Every Monday / However, if it is a public holiday, it will close the day after opening * Website: <a href="https://www.uljin.go.kr/tour/board/view.uljin?boardId=BBS_ATTRACTION_TU&menuCd=DOM_000000202001000000&orderBy=REGISTER_DATE%20DESC&startPage=1&searchType=DATA_TITLE&searchOperation=AND&categoryCode1=A01&dataSid=565"target="_blank" title="New Window: Uljin-gun Culture and Tourism">https://www.uljin.go.kr/</a> ◎ Usage Information - Admission Fees [Individual] Adult 5,000 won / Youth, Military 3,000 won / Child 2,500 won / Senior 1,000 won [Group (30 or more people)] Adult 4,000 won / Youth, Military 2,500 won / Child 2,000 won / Senior 1,000 won
