DMZ Peace Train Music Festival Special Morning Stage

[Performance Introduction] The area of Cheorwon-gun where Fistrain is held was North Korean territory from 1945 to 1953. During the Japanese colonial period, it was a prosperous granary and a key city on the Gyeongwon Line, flourishing as much as Seoul Station. The Korean War turned that prosperous Cheorwon into ruins, divided the city into North and South, and destroyed most of the buildings of that era to the point where only traces remain. The only thing that survived in that place is the Labor Party Headquarters, which was built as the headquarters of the North Korean Labor Party immediately after liberation. In front of the building is the Road Origin Marker, a sign indicating that all roads in Cheorwon begin here, with distances to major points within the county engraved starting from this spot. Thus, the Labor Party Headquarters is located at the 00KM mark in the middle of Cheorwon-gun, which was divided into North and South after the Korean War. The 2026 Fistrain Music Festival will feature a special stage in a small garden created next to the Labor Party Headquarters. In Part 1, the folk duo Moheo, based in Jeju Island—the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula—will appear. From that place, which can be considered the northernmost part of the South, they will perform songs of islands, wind, and the sea. In Part 2, singer-songwriter Haepa, who dreams of being a "member of a healthy society," will sing about the ironies of life and existence that are hard to tell apart between jokes and sincerity. The Labor Party Headquarters is a place where the history of war, conflict, hatred, and exclusion remains as a trace. On a quiet Sunday morning, may the peaceful music echoing there become that 00KM mark that does not turn away from the tragedies occurring in various parts of the earth at this very moment, but instead begins to unite for the end of tragedy.
