Gwanghwamun Square
172 Sejong-daero, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Overview
Renovated and reopened to the public, Gwanghwamun Plaza has been transformed from a vehicle-oriented street into a human-centered space, revitalizing Sejong-ro, the central street of Seoul with 600 years of history. By creating a space that offers views of beautiful natural landscapes such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukhansan Mountain, it has been reborn as a space for historical and cultural experiences through the restoration of Yukjo-geori, the former appearance of Sejong-ro. In the entrance section, titled "The Plaza that Restores the History of Gwanghwamun," the Woldae platform has been recreated and the Haetae statues have been restored. In the section surrounding Sejong-ro Park, titled "The Plaza that Recreates the Scenery of Yukjo-geori," traces of Yukjo-geori, which was once the central street of Hanyang, have been recreated, and a miniature model representing this area has also been installed.
