KT Onmaru
178 Sejong-daero (Sejong-ro), Jongno-gu, Seoul

Overview
Upon entering the exhibition hall, the clock turns back over 140 years. KT Onmaru is an experiential permanent exhibition space located on the 2nd floor of the KT Gwanghwamun Building West in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. It captures the history of information and communications in Korea, which began with the Hanseong Telegraph Office in 1885, along with KT's past, present, and future visions in a single continuous path. The exhibition consists of three areas: the Corridor of Time (permanent exhibition), the Courtyard of Light (media exhibition), and the Journey of Connection (special exhibition). In the Corridor of Time, visitors can explore the history of communications in chronological order, including Deokryulpung, Korea's first telephone, early telephones designated as National Registered Cultural Heritage, and the TDX-1, Korea's first electronic automatic exchange system, as well as hands-on experiences such as making pagers, PC communication devices, and public telephone cards. Admission is free, and visitors can participate in Korean or English docent tours through advance reservations. Having surpassed 20,000 visitors within just two months of opening, it is establishing itself as a new cultural landmark in Gwanghwamun.
