Osan Bird Park

Located in Osan City Hall, Osan Bird Park is the second human-friendly animal and botanical garden in Korea after Gyeongju and the first in the metropolitan area, serving as an ecological experience and education center. Following the proposal of Osan City, which aims to be a UNESCO Child-Friendly City and a City of Education, Gyeongju Bird Park, Korea's first bird-specialized zoo, upgraded its expertise and expanded by four floors on the rooftop of the second floor of the city hall civil service center, opening in 2021. Spanning four floors, it features themed halls including an environmental protection practice hall for coexistence with nature, a science principles hall for learning through play with nature, and a life birth and evolution secrets hall. It is equipped with facilities such as a bird gliding area, an aquarium, a botanical garden, rest areas, and a photo zone and observatory on the fourth floor. Furthermore, as the largest indoor zoo in Korea, it houses approximately 1,200 species of flora and fauna, and temperatures are maintained differently on each floor to match the natural habitats of the animals. It takes about 10 minutes by car from Osan Station on Line 1 and about 5 minutes from Osan IC, and public transportation is easily accessible via buses from the subway station. Nearby attractions include the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center, Osan Miniature Village, Mulhyanggi Arboretum, Osan Doksanseong Fortress and Semadae Site, and the Smith Peace Hall.
